Along with his starring role in Star Trek: Generations, PATRICK STEWART (Captain Jean-Luc Picard) has appeared in films such as Jeffrey, Gunmen, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, L.A. Story, Lady Jane, Dune, Excalibur and Hedda. His unmistakable voice can be heard in the animated/live action feature The Pagemaster. Patrick recently completed production on the psychological thriller Safe House.
As Capt. Picard on "Star Trek: The Next Generation," he received a Best Actor nomination from the American TV Awards, as well as a Screen Actors Guild nomination for Best Actor.
For television, he recently appeared in TNT's "In Search of Dr. Seuss." He also appeared as an animated character on an episode of "The Simpsons" and has hosted several documentary series including "The Shape of the World" and "MGM: When the Lion Roars."
He recently starred on Broadway as Prospero, in Shakespeare's classic "The Tempest," and played the title role in a contemporary adaptation of Oscar Wilde's "The Canterville Ghost" for ABC and Hallmark Hall of Fame. His one-man adaptation in the 1994-95 Broadway production of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" earned Patrick a Drama Desk Award for Best Solo Performer and an Olivier Award nomination for Best Actor. He grew up in the English town of Mirfield, near where he currently resides.
