LEVAR BURTON (Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge) is the Enterprise officer who 'sees' through the use of a V.I.S.O.R. (Visual Input Sensory Optical Reflector) in Star Trek: Generations, and the series "Star Trek: The Next Generation." Burton won an Emmy for his role of Kunta Kinte in the miniseries "Roots" and has appeared in such films as The Hunter and Looking for Mr. Goodbar. LeVar is currently celebrating his 13th season as the host and co-executive producer of the PBS children's television series, "Reading Rainbow." In addition to having directed several episodes of both "Star Trek: Voyager" and "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," his company, Eagle Nation Films, has also just signed an exclusive overall deal with Paramount Pictures to produce television as well as feature films. In his debut as an author, he is currently putting the finishing touches on his first book, an as-yet-untitled science fiction novel.
