ALFRE WOODARD (Lily Sloane) plays a 21st century civilian who must accompany Capt. Picard in battling the menacing Borg. Woodard, who received an Academy Award® nomination for Cross Creek, can currently be seen opposite Richard Gere as Judge Miriam Short in Paramount's Primal Fear. Her films include Crooklyn, Bopha!, Passion Fish, Rich in Love, Blue Chips, Heart and Souls, Grand Canyon, The Gun in Betty Lou's Handbag, Scrooged, Miss Firecracker, Health, Remember My Name and the recent How to Make an American Quilt. Her starring performance in the Hallmark Hall of Fame production of "The Piano Lesson" earned her a Best Actress Award from the Screen Actors Guild and an Emmy Award nomination. Woodard earned two Emmy Awards for a guest-starring role on "Hill Street Blues" and for the pilot episode of "L.A. Law." Her television credits include Emmy Award-nominated performances in "St. Elsewhere," the PBS production "Words by Heart," the John Sayles telefilm "Unnatural Causes" and the telefilm "A Mother's Courage: The Mary Thomas Story."
