Producer TOM CRUISE has spent the better part of the last 15 years in front of the camera, and in 1995 he added producing to his long list of credits. Set to be released May 22nd of this year is the film "Mission: Impossible," the first film produced by Cruise and his partner Paula Wagner under the banner of his production company, Cruise/Wagner Productions.

C/W, as it is known, was set up at Paramount Studios in 1993. "When we came to Paramount," recalls Cruise, "I asked who owned 'Mission: Impossible' and when I found out that they did, I told them I wanted to make the movie. I felt it was the perfect film to start our company. I thought it had all the elements to make a fun, suspenseful picture. And I also knew it would be a tough movie to make, but I wanted to show the industry we could do it." The project had been in development at Paramount for 14 years.

Another project currently in development under the C/W banner is the film "Pre," about the late running legend Steve Prefontaine. Robert Towne is writing and will direct the film which is slated to begin production in June of 1996. And the romantic thriller "Criminal Conversation" is slated for production in 1997.

In addition to his producing credits, Cruise directed a half-hour episode of the immensely popular Showtime anthology "Fallen Angels" entitled "The Frightening Frammis," which garnered Cable Ace nominations. The episode was based on a short story by Jim Thompson and starred Peter Gallagher, Isabella Rosselini and Nancy Travis.
