EMILIO ESTEVEZ is one of the most versatile talents in Hollywood. Not only
is his career constantly expanding in range of performances, he also writes and
directs.
Emilio has completed production on "The War At Home" for which he is wearing
three hats as producer, director and actor. Emilio stars with his father, Martin
Sheen, Kathy Bates and Kimberely Williams. "The War At Home," a labor of love
for Estevez, is based on the Broadway play Homefront. Disney will release the
film in late 1996.
He made his film debut in Tim Hunter's "Tex" and appeared in Francis Ford
Coppola's ensemble drama "The Outsiders," both based on S.E. Hinton novels. His
first starring role was in Alex Cox's cult picture, "Repo Man," playing a young
punk learning the ropes from a veteran car repossessor played by Harry Dean
Stanton.
Estevez' performance as the quintessential high-school jock in John Hughes'
"The Breakfast Club" won him widespread attention and acclaim. He went on to
appear in "St. Elmo's Fire" before starring in his third adaptation of an S.E.
Hinton book, "That Was Then, This Is Now," for which he also wrote the
screenplay.
Estevez made his debut as a director with "Wisdom," which he also wrote and
starred in. Other film credits include the 1987 hit "Stakeout," co-starring
Richard Dreyfuss, and the box-office success "Young Guns" and its sequel "Young
Guns II," both for Morgan Creek. Estevez then wrote, directed and starred in the
comedy "Men At Work." He also starred with Mick Jagger and Rene Russo in Morgan
Creek's futuristic action-adventure "Freejack."
In 1992, Estevez starred in the blockbuster family film, "The Mighty Ducks"
for Buena Vista and followed with the sequel in 1994. The next installment of
this franchise in which he makes a brief appearance as "Coach Bombay" will be
seen in October of 1996. In February, 1993, Estevez was seen opposite Samuel L.
Jackson in "National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon I," a spoof on the "Lethal Weapon"
films. Other 1993 films for Estevez include Touchstone Pictures' "Another
Stakeout" and Largo/Universal's "Judgment Night."
